A Prayer to Saint Dorothy
Let us devoutly pray to this blessed saint Dorothy
that she be our special protectress against
all
perils of fire, of lightning, of thundering,
and all other perils, and that at our end
we may receive the sacraments of the church,
that after this short life
may come unto bliss in heaven
whereas is life and joy perdurable,
world without end.

By the radiance
Of thy holy life
Thou did'st draw
The two sisters united
In spirit into the Eternal
Light;
And did'st send roses
And apples from Paradise
To Theophilus.
O Dorothy, as fellow-contestants
You were counted worthy
Of divine
glory.
Ask that we who praise
You may receive
The forgiveness of our sins.
