A Firefighter’s Prayer
When my shift begins at the break of day
I ask, Lord, that You would go before me.
Whatever
I am called upon to do,
I am confident You will be my strength.
For those unfortunate ones who find themselves
Facing the unthinkable
flames that would engulf
their lives,
I humbly ask that You would give me the privilege
To assist them to safety.
Above all, I
ask that You would give me wisdom to
Know what to do and when to do it,
And send Your angels to show me the way.
In the midst of
the flames, if I should be taken,
This is my request of You.
Please be The Father to my children
And the Provider for my wife.
In
Jesus’ Name,
Amen
Firefighter’s Prayer
When I am called to duty, God,
Whenever flames may rage
Give me strength to save a life
Whatever be its
age.
Help me embrace a little child
Before it is too late
Or save an older person from
The horror of that fate.
Enable me to
be alert
And hear the weakest shout
And quickly and efficiently
Put the fire out.
I want to fill my calling
To give the best in me
To
guard my friend and neighbor
And protect his property.
And if, according to Your will,
In my duty I must answer death’s call
Bless
with Your protecting hand
My family one and all.
A Firefighter’s Prayer
Lord, I ask You to be with me
In a very special way
As I face the challenges
Of a firefighter’s day.
I
pray that You will help me
To be the best that I can be
For there are many people
Who do depend on me
And when duty calls to danger
Walk
closely by my side
Instill in me great courage
Please be my strength, my guide
And whatever I am called to do
Always thankful I
will be
That you have been the unseen guest
Walking next to me.
